MVSU Merger Part 2

In my last blog post i told my readers about how Delta State University was suppose to be merged with Mississippi Valley State University and called Delta Valley University. Well the good news is that this merger will not happen, but hold on there is still some bad news. The bad news is that Mississippi Valley State University, Alcorn State University, and Jackson State University will now be merged into one black college. You want to know whats even more crazy about that? All three black schools will have the Jackson State University name for example instead of MVSU you will have Jackson State University in Itta Bena.

Now let me tell you why this is such a bad idea from my opinion
1: all band members, cheerleaders, and athletes will have to move to JSU's main campus in order to participate in extra curricular activities
2: all fraternities and sororities will have to get rid of their chapter names and fall under JSU's greeks meaning there will be no more Zeta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha or Beta Theta Chapter of Omega Psi phi
3: Students will have to figure out which campus to be around based on their major which is disappointing and frustrating

MVSU Merging with DSU??

Incase you didnt know, there has been recent talk about merging Mississippi Valley State University (an HBCU) with Delta State University( an predominately white university). It is said that both school seem to be losing a lot of recruitment and money which is the soul purpose people want to see them merged together. This has also been a topic in many other states. A lot of black educators are upset behind this because it makes it seem like black colleges are not that important anymore. If this was to take place the schools would be known as "Delta Valley University".

Chillen in Alabama

This weekend my frat bruhs and I decided to take a trip down to Birmingham,Alabama. When we first got there we met up with a few bruhs from a different chapter then went out to a Delta Sigma Theta party that wasn't that good. On that saturday we decided to tailgate all day/night at the Magic City Classics. We had a good time met a lot of new Iotas and Iota Sweethearts and even got entertained by the old drunk people across from the stadium. Later on after the tailgating was over we decided to hit up an Alpha Phi Alpha/Omega Psi Phi costume party that was real good. It was in a 8 story building that was real beautiful and dont get me started on all the fine females that attended it.
