MVSU Merging with DSU??

Incase you didnt know, there has been recent talk about merging Mississippi Valley State University (an HBCU) with Delta State University( an predominately white university). It is said that both school seem to be losing a lot of recruitment and money which is the soul purpose people want to see them merged together. This has also been a topic in many other states. A lot of black educators are upset behind this because it makes it seem like black colleges are not that important anymore. If this was to take place the schools would be known as "Delta Valley University".

  1. Damn! I'm soo shocked at this info. Valley should begin to offer more degree programs to increase the student quota. Also, many students end up repeating courses because some proffessors have stopped caring about the student body, and see us as filled seat.

Valley needs to try and fix this problem before merging with DSU.It'll take away the hard work and progress that the University is made of.

Not saying that the founders of Valley were all about keeping the school prodominalty African-American. But, merging with the likes of DSU?I just don't agree.
